Job Summary
The UAS Drone Instructor will teach participants the mechanics of actually flying a drone and where they can fly them safely within the legal framework of the FAA. The instructor must be knowledgeable about topics related to successfully operating a drone such as FAA regulations, weather, privacy issues, battery maintenance, and various drone applications including use of drones for inspections, geological mapping, aerial photography, surveys construction, utilities, pipeline, etc.
This is a part-time contract position. A background check, including motor vehicle record, will be required upon hire.
Required Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent
FAA Part 107 Certificate
2 Years of sUAS Experience
Expertise in one of the following areas: sUAS for public safety, sUAS for industrial inspections, sUAS for mapping, professional photography and videography, broadcast media, BVLOS or fixed wing sUAS
Experience teaching
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to host a fun, engaging, interactive class
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching or training experience at a college or university
