Description

The Department of Computer Science of the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for Assistant, Associate and Full Professor positions. Outstanding candidates in all areas of Computer Science will be considered, subject to the availability of funding, with particular attention to candidates with backgrounds that are underrepresented on Computer Science faculties and candidates working in Robotics and Quantum Computing.

The department is ranked among the top computer science departments in the country and is a core unit of Texas Computing, https://computing.utexas.edu. It has 48 tenured and tenure-track faculty members across all areas of computer science. Many of these faculty participate in interdisciplinary programs and centers in the University, including among others the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Science, Texas Robotics, and the Machine Learning Laboratory.

Qualifications

All tenure-track positions require a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in computer science or a related area at the time of employment.

Successful candidates are expected to pursue an active research program, to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses, and to supervise graduate students in research. All faculty positions require a cover letter, current curriculum vita, research statement, teaching philosophy and selected publications. For tenure-track positions, at least three (3) reference letters are required. For tenured positions, at least six (6) reference letters are required.
