Summary/Basic Function:

Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to coordinate the Financial Wellness program for current or prospective students. This position reports to the Director, Student Life & Intramurals.

The Financial Wellness Coordinator :

    Organizes and implements student-facing financial wellness programming and presentations, both face-to-face and online, designed to assist students in gaining financial literacy. This includes developing and executing sessions regarding creating a budget, salary negotiation, debt management, credit, etc.; Develops relationships and maintains a referral network with local community financial institutions and businesses, securing access to resources for BC students and assists students in navigating financial institutional information and resources; Collaborates and coordinates with other departments and campus programs to provide specialized financial literacy programming, if requested; Leads the collection of data to address program and learning outcomes for financial wellness and supports the development of assessment measures; Develops and maintains a webpage, ensuring that it is engaging to participants; Engages in professional development activities to remain current regarding financial wellness efforts; Remains current with information technology skills; Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.

Variable hours, including nights and weekends, will be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications of this position are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or related field;
  • Exceptional skills in financial literacy programs;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal, documentation and organizational skills;
  • Computer competency;
  • Ability to be patient and provide excellent student service in a busy work environment;
  • Ability to get along with others, foster an environment where diverse populations feel valued, work under stress and follow directions; and
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution.
