The Center for Leadership Education

Full-Time Lecturer in Quantitative Analysis for Organizations

The Johns Hopkins University seeks highly qualified candidates for a full-time, teaching track faculty position in the field of quantitative analysis for organizations within The Center for Leadership Education (CLE). This position offers a renewable, fully benefitted, one-year contract that becomes eligible for promotion and a longer term of contract after a probationary period. Salary is very competitive and commensurate with experience. Candidates will teach three courses each semester (fall and spring). While the candidate’s teaching load will be focused on the undergraduate curriculum, there are opportunities to teach at the graduate level. Opportunities for summer teaching and funding for conferences/professional development are available.

The Center for Leadership Education, a vibrant, interdisciplinary center in the Whiting School of Engineering, trains leaders to make an impact on the world through a broad range of offerings at the undergraduate- and graduate-level —in leadership, accounting/finance, entrepreneurship, professional communications and professional development—and utilizes experience-based, active learning techniques in all of its courses.

The CLE seeks an individual with a versatile and professional background capable of showing students how to use accounting and finance as tools within an organization to better the workplace and enable the organization to prosper; experience in large corporations/organizations and/or consulting is a plus. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching, preferably with full-time teaching experience at the undergraduate level, or in corporate or graduate venues. Candidates must be engaging, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues. An advanced degree is a requirement; Master’s Degree holders (including MBAs) are welcome. A CPA, CMA or CFA certification is strongly preferred.

We seek candidates with expertise in three of the following quantitative areas as applied to the rigorous assessment of organizations:

· Financial accounting

· Managerial accounting

· Managerial finance

· Financial planning and analysis
