Job Summary/Basic Function

The SUNY Canton Applied Psychology Program seeks applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor Faculty position in Clinical/Counseling Psychology, with appointment to commence in August 2021. Lecturer rank appointment considered. This position will serve an undergraduate curriculum focused on applications of psychology.

Job Requirements & Essential Functions of the Job

• A 4/4 teaching load, with that teaching in traditional face-to-face, online, hybrid, and converged modalities as needed.
• Teaching assignments may include courses in Abnormal Psychology, Counseling Skills, Introductory Psychology, and additional courses related to the applicant’s areas of expertise. Ability to teach courses in chemical dependency and additional courses in psychology (e.g., Personality) preferred, but not required.
• Advising and mentoring students.
• Collaborative participation in course, curriculum, program development, and assessment.
• Participation in campus, university, and community service activities.
• Engagement in professional development and relevant scholarly activity.

Required Qualifications

• ABD in Psychology or related discipline.
• Previous college teaching experience.
• Interest in active and collaborative learning and the use of technology for online, hybrid, and converged teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology or related discipline.
• Prior online teaching experience, including courses as listed above.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activity.
