Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Human Resources Director for the Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M), this position is responsible for providing administrative support to the FP&M Human Resources Office, which includes Employee Relations, Recruitment, Onboarding, Training &Organizational Development, Payroll & Benefits.

FP&M consists of the following departments: Associate Vice Chancellor's office; Physical Plant; Transportation Services; Facility Planning and Delivery, Environmental, Health and Safety; and Sustainability. FP&M is a diverse, complex 24-hour operation that includes multiple and rotating shifts and employs over 1,200 academic and university employees, temporary employee's and students; this includes non-English speaking employees. Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

- Prior experience working in human resources, personnel or payroll office setting strongly preferred.
- Exceptional customer service including excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong initiative/judgment and decision-making skills
- High level of organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail, and prioritizing
- Ability to flex schedule to assist HR/Benefits Staff with evening events involving 2nd & 3rd shift (virtual/inperson).
- Ability to work hours outside the normal schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks with numerous interruptions.
- Ability to handle difficult customers with appropriate conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to exercise a strong sense of priority and time management.
- Ability to work independently, setting own priorities to meet the demands of the position.
