Position Summary

The Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education at the University of Georgia invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor with expertise in Audiology. In collaboration with the Audiology Clinic Coordinator and the Clinic Director, this individual will lead the adult rehabilitation clinical program. Candidates with expertise or interest in Audiology, cochlear implants, tinnitus management, and/or bone anchored implants are encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements

•Earned doctoral (Au.D., Ph.D., or equivalent) degree in audiology, communication disorders, or directly related field
•Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology ( CCC -A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
•Current Georgia license in Audiology or evidence the candidate is license-eligible by proposed start date

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

• Five (5) years clinical experience in audiology
• Two (2) years experience in clinical supervision of audiology students or speech-language pathology students

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

•Evidence of clinical expertise in cochlear implants, tinnitus management, and/or bone anchored devices
•Evidence of a commitment to culturally sustaining clinical practices in diverse and inclusive contexts and communities

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

•Provide direct clinical services and evidence-based management in the evaluation and (re)habilitation of hearing disorders for a diverse caseload of patients representing a range of ages, backgrounds, and communication needs
•Instruct and supervise students in clinical practica in the on-campus clinic and off-campus community screenings
•Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (face-to-face, online, and/or blended) and mentor and advise students, as assigned
•Engage in departmental, college, university, and professional service
•Comply with university, regulatory, and accreditation agency standards
