The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders ( CSD ) at Elmhurst College in the greater Chicago area invites applications to join the pool of part-time (adjunct) faculty for the 2020 Fall term to teach Advanced Speech Sound Disorders.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities for this adjunct faculty position include course preparation, teaching, grading, and being available to students who have questions or require assistance. The CSD department will provide support and models for course materials if requested.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. An earned master’s or doctoral (preferred) degree in communication sciences and disorders, speech-language pathology.
2. Ability to collaborate effectively with CSD faculty, staff and students.
3. Commitment to excellence in teaching with a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in college-level teaching in communication sciences and disorders.
• CCC - SLP certification.
• 5+ years clinical experience including assessment and treatment of pediatric speech sound disorders

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders ( CSD ) at Elmhurst College in the greater Chicago area invites applications to join the pool of part-time (adjunct) faculty for the 2020 Fall term to teach Advanced Speech Sound Disorders.

The undergraduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders was founded in 1946. The master’s program in speech-language pathology was fully accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation ( CAA ) in 2017. The department is located in a newer building and houses a speech-language-hearing clinic and new voice and swallowing laboratory.
