Elmhurst University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Communication and Media to teach in the Digital Media program. A terminal degree in a media field is required. Candidates with experience teaching film and media production are preferred. Candidates with a background in both film production as well as animation and/or graphic design are strongly encouraged to apply. Main teaching responsibilities include core courses in the Digital Media degree such as Introduction to Digital Cinema, advanced courses within tracks such as Advanced Film and Media Production and Introduction to Video Editing, and senior-level courses such as the Digital Media Capstone course. Candidates are encouraged to look at the list of courses in the Digital Media degree (www.elmhurst.edu/digitalmedia) and indicate which courses in this program they have the knowledge and experience to teach. Evidence of outstanding teaching is essential. The teaching load is six courses per year. Candidates should be prepared to participate in academic service, including advising, admissions and recruitment events, and serving on university committees. An ongoing research and/or creative program or demonstration of creative/research potential is preferred. Candidates should have a commitment to creating inclusive learning environments for a diverse student body.
