The Advancement Data & Prospect Research Analyst will report directly to the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement. They will provide support of database management and data updates, while facilitating data retrieval, advancement reporting, and prospect research for the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Salary Grade O06 Essential Functions

60%: Prospect Research and Moves Management
• Identifies and profiles individual, corporate, and foundation donors, and researches prospects for major gifts, endowed gifts, special project funding, and annual/sustaining support.
• Provides written reports about specific donors and prospects, containing an analysis of information gathered from public sources.
• Seeks out the most effective research resources and systems from internal and external sources, while managing in-house information sources, reference materials, online services, news subscriptions, and prospect research files.
• Constructs and distributes in-depth profiles, confidential briefing documents, and other research materials using multiple screening strategies, fundraising software, and methodologies.
• Prepares, organizes, and oversees prospect review meetings and prospect strategy discussions.
• Employs innovative prospecting methodologies, including in-house data mining using sophisticated constituent database queries and statistical analysis.
• Oversees products and builds processes in Raiser’s Edge for implementing a comprehensive predictive modeling and donor analytics program that identifies the likeliest sources of future major donor support.
• Directs the construction and tracking of a prospective donor pipeline for the institution.
40%: Database Management and Systems Support
• Ensures systems and processes are aligned for accurate, consistent, and timely data reporting.
• Directs or helps produce scheduled and ad hoc Campaign, Annual Fund, and fiscal year data reports for department and campus colleagues.
• Partners with the Office of Information Systems to confirm and initiate data administration best practices; ensures Blackbaud Raisers Edge compliance and collaboration with campus-wide data systems.
• Produce mailing and email lists, used for appeals, newsletters, invitations, and other activities for advancement department.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
• Supports mission, vision, and values.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience with computer systems including Word, Access, Excel, and basic programming.
• 1-2 years’ experience working in Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM .
• High level of data management experience.
• Ability to apply and leverage technology to build the capacity of an Institutional Advancement department
• Ability to work collaboratively.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Excellent analytical, inquisitive, and communication skills, including strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the highest professional and ethical standards.
• Strong affinity with and commitment to the mission of Elmhurst University.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sophisticated database program processing and administrative techniques.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
