Job Summary
Coordinates programs and activities for the College of Liberal Arts ( CLA )
related to placement and career development services for students and alumni.
Essential Functions
Essential functions and activities include but are not limited to: developing, implementing and reporting student internships and job placements; developing, coordinating, and presenting various career planning workshops and career fairs; advising students, alumni, and others regarding career planning initiatives. Develop and maintain effective contact with employers/businesses and their HR contacts, the staff of the AU Career Center, internship directors and advisors in CLA departments, College advisors, CLA communication and marketing team, recruiters, and counterparts in the various AU Colleges; may serve as liaison to CLA development officers to secure financial sponsorship and contributions from alumni and employers; conducting studies and reports related to careers.
Position will be responsible for teaching academic courses related to career paths as well as seminars and workshops to prepare students, faculty, advisors and internship directors for career initiatives. The individual selected for this position will participate in professional organizations and training pertaining to career development and may be responsible for assigning tasks to graduate student assistant(s) or staff that assist career-focused students.

- Desired qualifications include experience with alumni, and a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
-Knowledge of student development and experience in the job market.
- Individual must be a team player as they will be connecting with many units inside and outside of Auburn University; must be able to perform tasks independently; able to perform varied duties with different stakeholders: students, faculty, staff, employers, alumni; able to coordinate and manage others working together on projects related to career.
- Experience with Handshake, Linkedin, Qualtrics, and Outlook are also desired.
