FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
Department of Sociology
The Department of Sociology is one of the seven departments housed in the Faculty of Social Sciences, which has a key research niche in smart societies emphasising the research themes of (i) environmental and urban systems; (ii) populations and well-being; and (iii) learning, praxis and governance. Together with the other six departments including Social Work, Education Studies, Government and International Studies, History, Geography and Sport, Physical Education and Health, the Department of Sociology strives to build interdisciplinary synergy and international partnerships to address social issues of increasing local and international significance.
