The University of North Carolina at Charlotte seeks a Director for its School of Social Work which is ranked among the top in the nation by US News. The UNC Charlotte School of Social Work fosters optimal health and well-being, equal human rights, and a just society, by preparing future social work professionals for leadership in areas of culturally-informed, community-engaged practice, policy, and research, with a particular emphasis on persistent and emerging social problems in rapidly diversifying urban areas locally, nationally and globally. We are searching for a Director who will help us build on our success through visionary and resourceful leadership. The position is a full-time, 12-month appointment, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2021.

Qualifications: The successful candidate is expected to have distinctive experience in leadership, externally funded research, engagement of community stakeholders, teaching excellence, and championing diversity, racial equity, and social justice. Applicants must have previous administrative experience in higher education. Given the high level of collaboration among units in the College of Health and Human Services, the ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills and interdisciplinary competence. Candidates must possess a doctorate in social work or a related field and be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate or full professor. An MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program is strongly preferred. If a candidate possesses a doctorate in a related field, an MSW from a CSWE accredited program is required.
