Serve as the Manager of the Adult Basic Education Program; Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel; Oversee program’s goals, objectives and improvements; Responsible for development and/or administration of budget in areas of supervision; Serve as liaison between the ABE Program and the community college and university, community agencies, businesses and other groups, advisory committees, state and national groups; Provides student support services at various campus locations; Responsible for data quality audits/analysis; Provide end-of-year and mid-year reporting for grants and contracts as required; Serve on various community college committees; Develop and foster community partnerships; Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Duties will include: the selection and performance evaluations of teachers and other staff; management and coordination of site-based activities; data collection and interpretation; program and site development; formal reporting; budget management; proposal writing; and strategic planning. Will also recruit, advertise, schedule and implement the education courses for adult learners while providing training and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff. Quality-based performance standards drive this program’s planning, assessment, and evaluation processes. Manager of Adult Education will be responsible for full compliance with all Federal, State, and University guidelines, policies or procedures at all times.

Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University’s mission, vision and goals.

Excellent communication skills, ability to listen to new ideas and to respond in a timely manner to students and staff. Demonstrated skill in working effectively with personnel conflicts and concerns.

Demonstrated ability to administer in a fair, thorough and thoughtful way. Ability to solve problems and deliver difficulty massages in a sensible way. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to establish and maintain a high degree of personal and program integrity and openness with students and staff.

Master’s degree in a related field.
