Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring a Manager of Financial Aid Systems for the Daytona Beach campus. This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, delivery and support of Financial Aid business technology solutions. It is intended to recommend, manage, and help the department implement IT strategies from a strong technical perspective. The role requires the employee to possess strong process improvement skills in order to assist the department in developing and improving the following areas: automate manual processes, ensure data integrity, vet new technology solutions, integrate systems and assist in improving the overall efficiency of technology use and to improve service to students.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • The Manager of Financial Aid Systems position will:
    • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to configure and understand Financial Aid information systems
    • Define technical and functional standards and ensure delivered work meets technical, functional, performance and business requirements as well as best practices.
    • Convert requirements into program specifications and necessary system documentation.
    • Configuration of Campus Solutions modules based on business requirements.
    • Execute and lead testing process (unit and integration test).
    • Application support, facilitate changes and training of team members.
  • Assist with the coordination in the overall management of data maintained on the various databases that support financial aid processing.
    • Develop and maintain the interface between computer systems, web and network technologies that improve efficiencies.
    • Work with all campus Financial Aid offices to assist with any new/improved electronic processing systems.
    • Work cooperatively with other University offices to ensure the accuracy of shared information in the delivery of financial aid awards.
    • Create and maintain complex Excel workbooks and spreadsheets using macros and queries
  • Keep current with all releases of software programs that require the financial aid office to function efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain basic knowledge of financial aid student eligibility with federal, state, and institutional guidelines to assist with creating systems and processes that help maintain compliance with the financial aid programs.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5-10 years of work related experience.
  • Analytical skills with an in depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.
  • Master advanced Excel operations using macros and queries.
  • Experience with high volume, sophisticated computerized environment using multitude of software packages.
  • Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain software applications and peripheral equipment used by the department.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with staff, the public, and the university community; Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities to handle complex administrative details with experience working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with frequent interruptions of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to and promote a team environment.
  • May be required to work weekend/evening hours during peak periods.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PeopleSoft Campus Solutions experience preferred.
