Position Function

Provide financial aid advising for students, parents and others seeking financial aid assistance; use professional judgment to determine financial aid eligibility, perform need analysis and determine appropriate aid packages.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Experience

At least one year of relevant experience based upon job qualifications and the provided rankings of the required responsibilities.

Minimum Other

Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with all publics; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations; skilled in using a personal computer.

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Education

Master’s degree in student affairs administration or related area.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a financial aid office with knowledge of financial aid programs and processes or two years of professional work experience.

Preferred Other

Fluency in both English and Spanish.

Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Job Duty

Work as a key member of the customer service team to provide impactful front-line customer service through various channels such as, but not limited to, walk-ins, phones, front desk, email and social media.

Educate current and prospective students, their parents, high school counselors and others on federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations, policies, application procedures, awarding and disbursement.

Attend professional training to maintain knowledge of federal, state and other program-related information.

Determine validity of data submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA ), perform need analysis, complete verification, determine cost of attendance and package/repackage financial aid.

Coordinate and process athletic aid as a part of a University Division I Athletic Program including serving as liaison with University Athletics and the Athletic Compliance team, ensuring university compliance with NCAA regulations for athletic awards; communicating with athletes, coaches and administrators in the awarding and monitoring of athletic awards.
