The Curriculum Coordinator supports and maintains processes associated with curriculum development, approval, and implementation. This position is responsible for collecting, reviewing and processing the required documentation for College and State ( ICCB ) approval of courses and programs, assigning College and CIP codes to new courses and programs, maintaining the records of courses and programs, and maintaining state-wide articulation information. Additionally, the Curriculum Coordinator collects, reviews, and processes information on all courses and programs for the College Catalog in coordination with other stakeholders in preparation for annual publication.

Required Qualification

• A Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in an educational environment.
• Familiarity with the curriculum development process.
• Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS :
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others. Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules. Ability to work with confidential information.

Desired Qualifications

• Previous experience working with databases and web-based applications
• PeopleSoft basic skills
• Experience with technological report generation preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English

Summary of Essential Functions

Department Operations and Procedures 55%
1) Maintain tracking system of Curriculum Committee decisions, administrative, and state approval of courses and programs. Performs data entry of all courses and programs after appropriate approvals.
2) Ensure that institutional and state approval of courses and programs are consistent with the catalog, schedule, brochures, state master file, and other sources of student information.
3) Maintain the historical and permanent records of all courses and programs.
4) Prepare materials and agenda for Curriculum Committee members and serve a resource for all faculty in the submission of information to the committee.
5) Assign CLC curriculum codes and maintain course and curriculum master files for the College.
6) Maintain and update approved degrees and programs.
7) Work with staff in Educational Affairs in updating and maintenance of the course information database tables.
8) Assist in the development of reports, including assisting the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Research ( IEPR ) for compliance and curriculum reporting.
9) Compile and update the lists of programs eligible under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act ( WIOA )
10) Provide technical support fo the Educational Affairs office and academic divisions by functioning as the liaison for curriculum management software.
11) Provide training workshops and materials as well as implementation support for curriculum management software to all faculty and divisions
12) Support the Educational Affairs Office in developing, maintaining, and communicating policies and procedures in support of college operations

Project Leadership 40%
1) Coordinate all academic divisions and all college stakeholders in the review and revisions of the college catalog
2) Maintain new course and program information for inclusion in the catalog and other publications
3) Track all necessary updates, errors, and addenda for the publication of mid-year catalog addendum.
4) Reviews and submits all courses for approval as part of the Illinois Articulation Initiative.
5) Reviews and submits articulation requests for established, revised, and new courses with four year colleges and universities.

Strategic Leadership and Planning 5%
1) Attends workshops and meetings concerning the development of new courses and programs.
2) Assists in the development and implementation of workflow/process tools as they relate to curriculum development.
