The city is also within easy driving distance of Tulsa, Kansas City, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, and Memphis.

The UAFS campus is comprised of 77 buildings and facilities located on 170 beautifully manicured acres and crowned with the Donald W. Reynolds Campus Plaza, Tower, and Campus Green. Students who choose to live on campus may do so in one of two residence hall complexes, complete with a full-service dining center, or the on-campus apartment complex for married students and upperclassmen. Campus involvement is encouraged by participation in more than 100 registered student organizations, which includes academic societies, a dynamic Greek life system, intramural sports, and cultural/special interest groups. The UAFS Lions compete in NCAA Division II Lonestar Conference in men’s baseball, women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball, golf, cross country, and tennis.

About the College / Department

The College of Business is accredited by AACSB and offers a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with concentrations in Core, Professional and Public Accounting, Business Economics, Consumer Marketing, Corporate Finance, Digital Marketing, Human Resource Management, International Management, Investments, Management, and Small Enterprise Management. Students may earn corresponding Certificates of Proficiency in most concentrations in order to demonstrate their skills and workplace competencies, and an online completion option is available.
Focused on transforming students into career-ready business professionals who add value to their workplace and communities, the College offers real-world leadership development. Embedded into the curriculum are research projects, internships, and a myriad of co-curricular opportunities including Beta Alpha Psi, Hembree Student Investment Fund, and First Bank Corporation Collegiate Ambassador Board. Through a partnership with the UAFS Babb Center for Student Professional Development, students can actualize their personal and professional potential through career exploration and readiness workshops as well as networking and mentoring with employers.

Position Summary

Responsible for all aspects of Regional Office operations. Works closely with the ASBTDC State Director, UALR lead center management team and UAFS staff, students, and faculty. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Business.

Summary of Job Duties

•Provide management assistance, technical advice, and problem solving help with financial analysis and budgeting, marketing, business planning and modeling, loan proposal development; and conducting business and market research.
•Responsible for financial and programmatic management of the Regional Office under terms and conditions imposed by the SBA federal awards, contract/memorandum of agreement with UALR Lead Center, OMB Circulars, federal regulations, ASBTDC Policies and Procedures Manual.
•Responsible for Regional Office budget; management of accounts including grant, match, and program income accounts; approval of quarterly expenditure reporting.
•Responsible for fulfilling reporting requirements, participation in all programmatic and financial reviews, accreditation review, network strategic planning.
•Responsible for achieving Regional Office performance measures, ratings and response rates on impact surveys, client satisfaction surveys and event evaluations.
•Develop and implement entrepreneurial programming and events.
•Conduct outreach within business community and work with lenders to generate consulting referrals.
•Participate in implementation of ASBTDC Marketing Plan.
•Facilitate student engagement in entrepreneurial activities through experiential learning activities.
•Communicate with the Dean of the College of Business on a regular basis.
•Attendance and participation in all faculty, staff, and University meetings/events as required.
•Maintains strong working relationship with faculty and staff.
•Earn specific certifications in support of ASBTDC strategic initiatives such as Export Counselor Certification and Economic Development Finance Professional Certification.
•Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree with significant course work in business.
•Direct experience with business planning, marketing, and financial management.
•Experience preparing, understanding, and analyzing financial statements.

License(s)/Certifications Preferred Qualifications

•MBA or Master’s degree in business-related discipline.
•Experience as a small business owner; experience preparing loan proposals for financial institutions.
•Experience managing federal grants.
•Experience working with programs designed to assist small businesses at the federal, state, and local levels.

Special Job Dimensions

Work performed primarily in an office/classroom setting. Must have own transportation and possess valid driver’s license as well as meet state requirements for operating vehicles on state business. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. Required abilities include walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods. Visual demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee regularly talks and hears. Employee occasionally lifts items up to 10 pounds.

Work Schedule

Routine office hours 8:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday as well as evening/weekend work and overnight/out-of-state travel as needed.
