Denison is an antiracist, diverse living, learning, and working community and sees this as essential to its educational mission. The college and the department are committed to an inclusive and welcoming community for its students, faculty, and staff. We are especially interested in applicants that can work effectively with students from groups that have been historically marginalized in higher education.

The Department of Mathematics maintains close ties with the Department of Computer Science. The two departments graduated 42 majors and 22 minors in 2020, supported by 18 full-time faculty members. We offer an innovative variety of pure and applied upper division courses, while contributing to new programs at Denison such as Data Analytics, Global Commerce, Global Health, and Financial Economics. We engage our students in a myriad of ways ranging from department-sponsored social events to internally-supported undergraduate research.

For more information and to apply go to Please upload a vita, transcripts of graduate work, a statement on your teaching philosophy, and a statement on your research program. Also ask three persons who know you well to upload reference letters in support of your application. At least two of these reference letters must address your teaching effectiveness and potential.

We will begin reviewing applications on February 8th, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled. To achieve our mission as a liberal arts college, we continually strive to foster a diverse campus community, which recognizes the value of all persons regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or socio-economic background.
