The Exercise Science Division in the School of Health Sciences at Central Michigan University (CMU) is recruiting for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track position, beginning August 2021. The undergraduate Exercise Science major is recently CoAES accredited and our Exercise Physiology Masters program transitioned from an MA to MS degree in Fall 2017. The CMU School of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and is located in The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions. Qualifications:
Required: Earned doctorate in Anatomy, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, or related field (ABDs in the final stages of doctorate will also be considered) with demonstrated successful college teaching of gross anatomy experience (at the undergraduate and/or graduate level). Preferred: Experience teaching human gross anatomy and anatomical dissection, biomechanics, exercise science, etc.; experience or demonstrated interest in securing extramural grants and contracts; post-doctoral experience; demonstrated research agenda in areas related to anatomy, biomechanics, etc., based on published works and/or external funding; evidence of involvement with professional associations and organizations, including ACSM; and demonstrated leadership skills. Interest in leadership opportunities within unit (e.g., Anatomy Lab Director); proficiency in use of technology; demonstrated commitment to diversity; and effective oral/written communication skills.

Responsibilities:
Faculty members are expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, student advising, university service and participate in graduate and undergraduate research. Teaching: Teaching freshman through graduate courses in human anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, and other areas based on expertise. Research: Conducting research and scholarly endeavors that leads to securing extramural funding to support an ongoing research agenda; directing undergraduate and graduate student research. Advising and Service: Involvement in campus and community service; advising undergraduate and graduate students.
