Assistant Professor of Biology 

Lyon College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in biology,  beginning August 2021. Ph.D. in Biology or Physiology required. Responsibilities include teaching  introductory-level courses in biology, natural science, histology and animal physiology with an  emphasis on aquatic vertebrates, as well as courses in biology in the liberal arts core curriculum,  and establishing a successful research program involving undergraduates. Lyon College is a  USN&WR “top tier” national liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  

Lyon College is located in the foothills of the Ozarks in Batesville, Arkansas, a safe and convenient  town of 10,000 that serves as commercial, medical, social, and governmental hub for an eight county area. The College enrolls over 700 students from twenty-five states and eleven foreign  countries on its picturesque 136-acre campus. Entering freshmen have an average HSGPA of 3.6  and an average ACT of 25. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.
