The Bachelor of Social Work Program at St. Ambrose University invites applications for a 10-month tenure track position in Social Work, beginning August 1, 2021.  Responsibilities include working collaboratively with university partners, student advising, university and community and committee service, scholarship, and an ability to teach across the Bachelor of Social Work curriculum and throughout the School of Social Work at SAU.  One of seven health science departments within the College of Health and Human Services, the School is located in a supportive, collaborative environment with a strong focus on teaching as well as support for scholarship. Multiple Interprofessional learning events and numerous outreach services enhance the student experience.  Since 1997, the School of Social Work has offered a well-established MSW program in part-time hybrid, full-time and advanced standing programs as well.

The position requires an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and prefers an earned doctorate in social work or related field (applicants who are ABD will be considered).  A minimum of two years post-MSW direct practice experience is required and evidence of effective teaching is essential.  Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.  People from under-represented populations are encouraged to apply.  Priority will be given to applicants with a willingness to teach across multiple delivery formats and those who show a strong history of teaching, scholarly engagement and practice experience with vulnerable populations in a variety of settings.
