Under general supervision counsels and advises students regarding internships and career development, manages the on-line Career Center and the hiring of students on and off campus. Develops and maintains partnerships with schools, colleges and external employers; and coordinates career development and placement events such as annual career fairs, joint initiatives with other universities, and university-wide career education workshops and seminars.
Essential Duties Summary
• Counsels and advises students individually and in group settings on topics such as: the internship/job search process, writing professional documents and job search techniques.
• Updates and maintains the on-line Career center to include approval of internships, review of student profiles, faculty internship updates and other information.
• Identifies employment trends, career opportunities and resources available to students.
• Participates in strategic planning and implements strategies to support early stage career development for students.
• Serves on campus committees, supports collaborative initiatives and represents career services at college and alumni events.
• Develops and calls on academic and business contacts to promote partnerships with schools and colleges and external employers, for the purposes of job development and placement.
• Coordinates career development and placement events such as annual career fairs, joint initiatives with other universities, and university-wide career education workshops and seminars.
• Assists with the development and content of a Career Services newsletter.
• Assists with the compilation and preparation of employment data or other reports.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range $41,976.00 - $52,470.00 Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Required Licensing/Certification
Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
• Policies, procedures, and practices.
• Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
Skill in:
• Problem-solving and decision-making.
• Coordinating work of others.
• Both verbal and written communication.
Ability to:
• Prepare detailed reports.
• Work independently.
• Communicate effectively.
Work Experience
One (1) to three (3) years of experience.
Working/Environmental Conditions
Limited standing and/or walking.
Handling light weight objects.
Using or carrying equipment.
Stoop, bend or lift.
