Position Summary:

The Department of Surgery is seeking a highly motivated individual to join an exciting research team to study the molecular mechanisms of vascular diseases. The mission of the lab is to investigate pathophysiology of aortic aneurysm and venous thrombosis and to develop novel disease treatments.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's Degree required. Bachelor's degree in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, or a related field preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

At least 1 year of research laboratory experience working in the fields of molecular, cellular or developmental biology preferred. Experience in cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA preparation and analysis, and Western Blotting highly desirable. Additional experience handling laboratory animals is desirable but not necessary.

License or Certificate:

Biosafety training and animal handling training can be acquired by upon hire.

Additional Information:

Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and willingness to work in a team and learn new research techniques are important for this position.
