Job Summary
In addition to performing all the duties that the Student Development Specialist performs (see details below), the Lead Student Development Specialist will assist in providing oversight and expertise for all phone activity related to the enrollment services functions of the Success Center. Time will also be assigned to answering phones, responding to emails, and assisting students face-to-face.
The Student Development Specialist is responsible for assisting students with the college enrollment process and orienting students to college policies, procedures, resources, and technology. This position helps facilitate student learning to ensure students are successful in navigating the complexities of the enrollment process from admission through graduation. The Student Development Specialist builds relationships with students, engages them in the community of JCCC, and connects students with resources as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to make good judgments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Banner student information system and a minimum of two years working in a Records office.
