A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) is seeking an Associate Director AHEC on the Kirksville, Missouri, campus. This position reports to the AHEC Program Director. The purpose of this Associate Director position is to manage the day-to-day operations (staff, systems, and budget) within the ATSU-KCOM AHEC program office and assure compliance in relation to funder and University policies and procedures (e.g., grant compliance, fiscal integrity, data management, reporting, etc.). The incumbent will be detail-oriented and demonstrate excellent communication skills both internally and with the Missouri AHEC (MAHEC) partner organizations, including two Missouri medical schools and 7 regional Centers. S/he will promote timely and accurate completion of high-quality outcomes and reports in order to advance the statewide grant-funded MAHEC project which develops/supports clinical training opportunities for ATSU and MAHEC trainees and will contribute significantly to the preparation of competitive grant proposals to sustain and grow MAHEC funding.

Major Job Duties

  • Form strong alliances and seek synergy with ATSU service departments and partner organizations in order to advance the mission and capacities of ATSU-KCOM and MAHEC
  • Supervise ATSU-KCOM AHEC personnel promoting teamwork, collaboration, and mutual accountability
  • Co-develop AHEC budget/fiscal monitoring systems and assure timely, accurate, and compliant treatment
  • Provide technical assistance to subrecipients regarding government, funder, and University requirements
  • Draft, review, and respond to subrecipient agreements, invoices, reports, and inquiries paying special attention to required program match and project-related income
  • Prepare/track subrecipient payments
  • Monitor and adjust program data reporting systems as needed to assure fulfillment of projections/promises
  • Strengthen/maintain relationships with internal and external partners, funders, and other stakeholders
  • Seek and provide proactive information/support to advance ATSU and MAHEC priorities
  • Utilize proven management strategies to assure productive operation of the ATSU-KCOM AHEC
  • Participate in MAHEC activities (e.g., technical assistance, site visits, strategic planning, program evaluation, program planning, etc.) as needed to ensure fulfillment of grant-funded obligations
  • Prepare fiscal data and reports for ATSU administrators, funders/prospective funders, Center boards, etc.
  • Co-develop the ATSU-KCOM AHEC departmental budget


Requirements

  • Four year college degree in business, finance, or accounting
  • Aptitude for encouraging and keeping teams/individuals accountable
  • Aptitude for leading productive conversations/meetings which result in clear decisions or action
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, and Access) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Competency with the concepts of non-profit accounting (cash and accrual methods)
  • Competency with personnel management, giving effective feedback, performance assessment, etc.
  • Competency with educational course software/course design (preferred)
  • Ability to be responsive to staff/partners in addition to one's own workload
  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Role-model for AHEC personnel and partners
