The College
Established by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”) in 2010, Tung Wah College (TWC) is a self-financing degree-granting institution registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap.320).  Following the educational ideals of TWGHs and leveraging on its renowned strengths and expertise, TWC aims to provide high quality tertiary education to nurture competent, socially responsible and caring professionals for the benefits of society.

Currently, TWC has 4 schools (namely School of Arts and Humanities, School of Management, School of Medical and Health Sciences, and School of Nursing) offering a total of 17 Degree and Higher Diploma programmes in several disciplines.  It has a student population of about 2,800.  Since establishment, TWC has nurtured over 2,500 graduates.

Being a young and vibrant institution, TWC aspires to become a leading private university in the long term.  It is planning to launch a number of new programmes, strengthen teaching and learning facilities and quality, and enhance research capability in coming years.  To cope with its continuous development, we are now inviting highly qualified candidates to join our professional team.

Vice President (Administration and Development)

The Position
Reporting to the President and being a member of the senior management team, Vice President (Administration and Development) is responsible for providing effective leadership and support to the College in its administration and development.  The appointee shall actively contribute to the College’s mission and develop strategic plans to steer the administration of the College and lead the College forward.  He/She should act as key business partner and leader when working with all functional heads and external stakeholders to initiate, formulate and implement strategies to achieve the College’s mission and objectives.

The Person
The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes:
- Extensive administrative experience in tertiary education sector and solid managerial experience in leading and coordinating a range of corporate and multi-faceted administrative functions (eg finance, human resources, facilities management, information technology) at a senior level
- Experience in fundraising and in dealing with local government departments
- Experience in managing one line budget and solid experience in self-financed tertiary institution would be a definite advantage
- A good network with the education and business sectors and a good understanding of Hong Kong’s economic and education environment
- Business acumen and demonstrate effective balanced strategic leadership to ensure College’s work achieves its maximum visibility and impact, deploy resources effectively through prioritisation of needs, excellence in networking with potential donors and able to cultivate stakeholder relationship
- An innovative and dynamic leader with vision, energy and high level of integrity; be political savvy and an effective team player with a service-oriented attitude; possess sound judgement, excellent interpersonal and effective management skills; and creativity in problem solving; as well as strong commitment to implement the best practices in education
- A master’s degree (preferably a doctoral degree) and relevant professional qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in both English and Chinese
