Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Office of the Vice Chancellor for Graduate Research and Education (OVCRGE) provides an instructional and research environment and is responsible for providing financial and administrative assistance for 17 research centers, including research administration, with an operating budget of $180 million. The OVCRGE also administers a wide array of Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) sponsored research programs on campus with a total budget of approximately $90 million annually.

As part of the OVCRGE, OVCRGE Information Technology (IT) builds and supports custom applications used by faculty, researchers, administrative staff, and graduate students. Our diverse project portfolio spans a wide variety of subjects including: clinical research studies, admissions, student services, accounting, drone research, and institutional data reporting. We take pride in building partnerships with our campus colleagues and playing an integral role in driving innovation at UW-Madison.

This position delivers strategically significant and highly specialized IT support services to end users in support of institutional technology operation. Develops and provides training to end users.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Associate's degree - preferred minimum; preferably in information systems, computer science, or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Well-qualified applicants will have the following preferred experience:

-Two years' professional experience providing customer-focused computer support, assistance, and training
-Ability to install, configure, secure, test, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of technical devices, such as, but not limited to Macs, PCs, mobile devices, projectors, copiers, and printers.
-Strong oral and written communication skills including an ability to communicate technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical competencies.
-Knowledge of project management, networking technologies, security, and endpoint management.

A successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment. University sponsorship is not available for this position.
