Position Summary
Bay de Noc Community College is a student-focused, multi-campus institution serving the higher education needs of the south-central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The College is an accredit institution committed to continuous quality improvement. Bay College takes pride in providing a quality education to transfer and occupational students at two campuses, online, and at other course delivery sites.

Bay de Noc Community College is seeking qualified applicants to begin teaching Medical Assistant courses starting in August 2020.

Medical Assistant faculty and/or instructional staff must direct student learning and assess student progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains.

Minimum Qualifications:
- AAS degree
- At least 3 years' experience in the delivery of care in an ambulatory setting.
- Have academic training and preparation related to medical assistant role; at least equivalent to that of program graduates.
- Must be knowledgeable in the MAERB Core Curriculum objectives included in assigned course content.
-Must be effective in teaching assigned subjects, and capable through academic preparation, training, and experience to teach assigned courses.
- Commitment to quality instruction in a learner-centered environment with the goal of consistently improving student success.
- Commitment to the community college mission and philosophy
- Demonstrated skill in effective written and oral communication

Preferred Qualifications:
- Holds a current Medical Assistant Certification
- Bachelor's degree in the healthcare field
- BLS Certified

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Teach Medical Assistant courses as assigned
2. Responsible for student learning:
- Assist the Program Director with the development of curricula, courses, syllabi, and specifications for textbooks, materials, laboratory and technical resources.
- Commit to student success, retention and assessment of student progress and learning
- Recognize and respond to different student learning needs and respect diversity in the classroom
- Develop and use supplementary learning materials and resources
- Use best practices in the teaching and learning process
- Provide academic advising
- Collaborate with other teaching faculty, staff and administration to ensure that all Medical Assistant students receive instruction and supervision that promotes attainment of learning outcomes in compliance with the AAMA requirements.
- Conduct course and institutional assessment of student learning.
- Provide supervision of and provide frequent assessment of the students' progress in achieving acceptable program requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, including professional growth and development
- Be active in division and college activities
