The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington is offering an outstanding opportunity to establish a career in cancer rehabilitation at the University of Washington Medical Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA). This will be a full-time, 12-month appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (without tenure due to funding) in the Clinician-Educator pathway commensurate with experience and qualifications, with an anticipated start date of July 2021 or later.

We seek a physiatrist to lead the expansion of our cancer rehabilitation program at UW Medical Center-Montlake and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical care to a diverse mix of oncology patients in the outpatient and consultative setting. This position will support the right candidate in building an academic career that includes clinical care, teaching, research opportunities, and program development. All UW faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Opportunities to practice general outpatient rehabilitation and perform procedures (spasticity management, electrodiagnostics, etc.) also are available.

The successful candidate must have at least one year of experience in cancer rehabilitation, and the successful candidate will have completed a cancer rehabilitation fellowship or have demonstrated clinical experience working with the cancer population. Candidates must have a medical degree (MD, DO, or foreign equivalent) and be board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Candidates must be eligible to be a licensed physician in the State of Washington by the time of hire.

To be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
