The University of Washington's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Occupational Therapy, invites applications for one full- or part-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor (rank commensurate with experience and qualifications) with an anticipated start date of  May1, 2021. 

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, ranked #5 in US News & World Report, is a complex academic and clinical department in the University of Washington School of Medicine and affiliated hospitals, which include UW Medical Center - Montlake, UW Medical Center - Northwest, Harborview Medical Center, VA Puget Sound Health Care System, and Seattle Children’s Hospital. The Department houses three degree-granting professional preparation programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and prosthetics and orthotics, as well as a PhD in Rehabilitation Science.   The department holds $19 million in grants from federal and foundation funding sources. 

This position will be primarily responsible for teaching courses focused on adult physical disabilities practice within the Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program along with geriatric practice and general occupational therapy courses.  In addition, the position will include graduate project and general student advising and engagement in curriculum evaluation and development.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent)or higher in a relevant field, have initial National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification, hold or be eligible for occupational therapy licensure in the State of Washington, and have at least three years of experience in occupational therapy adult physical disabilities practice, including adult neurorehabilitation. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to: commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, scholarship, and service; demonstrated expertise in occupational therapy adult physical disabilities practice in adult rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, and/or geriatric settings; potential for excellence in education; and  experience in informal (e.g., workplace in-services, fieldwork education) and/or formal instruction.
