The Office of Development at Old Dominion University is seeking
candidates for the Corporate Relations Officer (full-time, 12
month) position. This position will identify, cultivate, solicit,
and steward private gifts from corporations in support of
University priorities. This position requires close working
relationships with colleagues in Development, University Relations,
as well as faculty, administrators and University officers as well
as an understanding of the program goals and objectives of Old
Dominion University and an understanding of the funding interests
and requirements of the corporate communities.
Required Education: Master’s degree in business
administration or related field.
Required Qualifications: Considerable experience
working as a corporate relations officer or equivalent experience
in a related field. Some experience in relationship building,
cultivation, and securing corporate gifts. Demonstrated ability
developing and implementing fundraising strategies related to
corporate/foundation giving. Successful track record in running a
corporate giving program. Organization, communication, and
diplomacy skills in working with Board members, volunteers, and
corporate members. Ability to draft high quality solicitation
proposals and letters.
Preferred Qualifications: CFRE (Certified Fund
Raising Executive) certification.
