Position Description

The Department of Neurological Surgery,  University of Washington School of Medicine, invites applications for a full-time position (100% FTE)  clinician-scientist, at the rank of Assistant Professor, without tenure due to funding. Salary commensurate with qualifications. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. 

The applicant’s primary responsibilities includes clinical care, teaching, and research in the Department of Neurological Surgery. Specifically we would ask that the applicant partner with Dr. Manuel Ferreira to expand our comprehensive neurological surgery tumor program.  We expect the applicant to continue to advance our research interests including the acquisition of new and independent funding sources (private and federal grants) of their research within the first three years as faculty.

The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2021. Assistant Professors in the Department of Neurosurgery have an annual service period of 12 months [July 1-June 30].

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD degree or foreign equivalent and be either eligible for board certification or be board certified.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
