ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MORAL THEOLOGY
MOUNT ANGEL SEMINARY
The Graduate School of Theology at Mount Angel Seminary in St. Benedict, OR invites applications for a full-time Moral Theology position, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin August 2021.
Ideal candidates will be moral theologians guided by Veritatis Splendor in the classic Catholic tradition and excellent teachers able to offer courses primarily in the Graduate School of Theology, with particular competence in Moral Theology and related courses within the context of a communion ecclesiology centered curriculum in the Seminary’s MDiv and MA (Theology) degree programs, and potentially the DMin program as well. The successful candidate must be able to support and promote the Seminary’s mission of priestly formation and must also be able to make a Profession of Faith and take the Oath of Fidelity. Applicants should hold a terminal degree in Moral Theology, preferably a pontifical doctorate; Catholic priest preferred but all qualified candidates will be considered and are urged to apply.
Mount Angel Seminary, an apostolate of the Benedictine monks of Mount Angel Abbey, is a school whose primary purpose is the human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral formation of men for the Roman Catholic priesthood. The Seminary is comprised of a Graduate School of Theology, and a College of Liberal Arts, and, for seminarians requiring additional preparation to enter the Graduate School, a Pre-Theology program. In addition, the Graduate School of Theology offers theological education to qualified laymen and women. The Seminary’s programs adhere to the norms established by the Holy See and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as stated in the Program of Priestly Formation. The Graduate School of Theology offers MDiv, MA (Theology), STB, and DMin degree programs.
