Southeastern Louisiana University invites applications for a tenure track position of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial & Engineering Technology to begin in August 2021.

The successful candidate is expected to teach a variety of courses in Industrial and Engineering Technology with emphasis on Drafting and Descriptive Geometry, Industrial Design, Facilities Planning, Rapid Prototyping, Additive Manufacturing, and Mechanical Analysis. Candidates whose qualifications cover more than one of these specific areas are especially preferred. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level are expected to show strong potential to establish successful research in one or more of these areas. Applicants at the Associate level must provide evidence of well-established research and funding in one or more of these areas. Additional duties include participation in other activities that include advising students, mentoring senior design projects, and participating in service activities at the Department, College, and University levels.

The Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology is home to three bachelor programs: Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE), Engineering Technology (ET), and Industrial Technology (IT). The Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment is an ABET-accredited program. The Engineering Technology is an ABET-accredited program and has five concentrations: Computer, Construction, Electrical Energy, Mechanical, and Mechatronics. The Industrial Technology is an ATMAE accredited program and has four concentrations: Design Drafting, Automated Systems, Supervision, and Welding Technology.

The department offers a unique mix of programs and has been growing steadily over the years. We seek an applicant who possesses outstanding interpersonal and communication skills who would support the continuous improvement of the Industrial and Engineering Technology programs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a terminal degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, or any closely related discipline from an accredited university.
