MCDANIEL COLLEGE PROVOST

McDaniel College is dedicated to excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and in professional studies. One of the original "Colleges That Change Lives," McDaniel is committed to access and affordability, and its increasingly diverse student body is a testament to its success. With two years of record enrollment growth, the College enrolls 1800 undergraduates and 1200 graduate students and has 30,000 alumni residing in 75 countries. The main campus, nicknamed "The Hill," is located on 160 acres in central Maryland in commuting distance from both Baltimore and Washington. McDaniel operates a second campus in Budapest, Hungary, enrolling McDaniel undergraduates and students from all over the world. More information about McDaniel College can be found on the website: https://www.mcdaniel.edu/.

The next provost will succeed Dr. Julia Jasken, who was recently named McDaniel's President-elect. The provost is the second ranking administrative officer of the College, having broad responsibility for both academic and campus life areas. The provost fosters a culture of creative problem solving and continual institutional improvement, and ensures the financial soundness of the College's academic and campus life programming.

The next provost will join McDaniel in early summer 2021, at a critical time for planning and establishing a vision for the institution through the development of an ambitious new strategic plan. Working with campus constituents, the provost will directly contribute to shaping this vision, continue the systematic review of academic programs, and lead the faculty in revising the general education curriculum to meet the unique needs of 21st century learners. Through deliberate, proactive measures, the provost will further the College's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the ongoing establishment of anti-racist policies and practices. To ensure high quality services and support, the provost will improve policies, practices, and outcomes related to student success and implement changes needed in response to increasing enrollment. The next provost will enjoy building relationships and partnerships on- and off-campus.
