Monitor all the software application required for the successful daily campus store and retail operations. Collaborate with system provider to ensure proper integration of the applications. Work closely with provider and related vendors to troubleshoot problems. Maintain and respond to help ticket system to address performance issues. Develop test plans to verify logic of new or modified applications. Install and monitor required updates to keep system running optimally. Maintain system documentation, formulate, and define system scope and objectives based on changing user needs. Understand the workflow and process requirements of business units related to the application. Provide advice and training to end users. Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation, as necessary. Maintain compatible system hardware and suggest upgrades as appropriate. Install, or upgrade system software where appropriate provide routine automation; maintain security policies; troubleshoot; train or supervise staff; or offer technical support for projects. Work collaboratively with the staff of ITS and Data Systems of Auxiliary Services where appropriate to maintain university compliance and security.

Qualifications

College Degree preferred in a related field, such as computer science, information technology, electronics engineering, or computer engineering. 5+ years in the computer related field with Strong and expert proficiency with MS Office applications, hardware and software maintenance. Experience with Business Operating Systems required. Oracle NetSuite Enterprise System preferred. Point of Sale ( POS ) experience preferred. Experience in a fast paced retail environment a plus.

Job Specific Qualifications

Experience with NetSuite Enterprise system preferred and maintenance of an enterprise solutions. Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on software knowledge, installations and use. Experience with go-live and post go-live preferred. Experience with People Soft preferred. General understanding of internet protocols including DNS, SMTP, POP3, IMAP Experience with database administration, including configuration, design performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, backup and data recovery. Experience with cloud services. Skill to interact and communicate positively with other staff and customers. Ability to create clear and effective policy and disseminate the information. Skill and ability to handle stressful situations, multiple deadlines in a calm professional manner. Knowledge and ability to effectively utilize equipment in daily routines as well as unforeseen emergencies.

Responsibilities

Monitor all the software applications required for the successful daily campus store and retail operations. Collaborate with system and software provider to ensure proper integration of the applications. Work closely with provider and related vendors to troubleshoot problems through resolution. List problems for correction and monitor the point of sale system and required software applications. Document and analyze potential corrective actions and communicate with vendor and affected staff. Troubleshoot and repair devices that could include network switches, routers, printer servers, remote access services, and cloud services. Direct vendor to ensure proper integration of the applications.

Plan, coordinate, test and communicate changes, upgrades, maintenance schedule and new services required for optimal system utilization. Develop test plans to verify logic and workflow of new or modified applications. Install and monitor required updates to keep system running optimally. Maintain system documentation, formulate, and define system scope and objectives based on changing user needs. Understand the workflow and process requirements of business units related to the application.
Manage appropriate hardware keeping it up to date and functioning with required software, suggesting upgrades as appropriate. Install, or upgrade system software where appropriate promote automation; maintain security policies; Evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives and develop and implement improved procedures and practices.

Oversee and maintain access controls and security clearances according to store policies and procedures. Provide advice, guidance and training to end users including full, part-time and student staff. Troubleshoot; and offer technical support for projects. Offer best practices standards. Monitor system usage to ensure proper utilization and maximum success. Analyze and revise existing system logic, as necessary. Set up administrator and service accounts including use of hierarchy and restrictions based on necessity and security. Regularly develop training sessions with the introduction of new or updated software.

Work collaboratively with the staff of the University’s ITS department and Data Systems of Auxiliary Services where appropriate to maintain university compliance and security of the system. Ensure our campus wide integrations are transferring correctly and with accurate timely information. Compile and monitor agreements needed to purchase additional equipment or for licenses renewals and collaborate with appropriate university officials.

Maintain current knowledge of relevant and emerging technologies and business processes. Review the governing regulations to ensure proper store support. Responds to events that could potentially be a security threat to the store, personnel, and property. Manage backup process and perform data recovery as needed. Log and track service requests in the established ticketing system, prioritize and escalate jobs as required.
