The Department of Statistics at Grand Valley State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor to begin August 1, 2021.  This is an open field search, and candidates from any field of Statistics and Data Science with a commitment to quality teaching and strong data analysis and computing skills are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates from underrepresented groups, candidates who have interest and/or experience in working with diverse student and community populations, and candidates working in emerging fields that can contribute to diversifying the expertise in our department. 

 

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science or a related field, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in statistics, or ABD candidates will be considered for a two-year contract with provisions that the Ph.D. must be completed by December 2022.  Duties include teaching, appropriate with your expertise, throughout the statistics curriculum including introductory service courses; participating in professional scholarship, which is broadly and includes theoretical and pedagogical research and consulting activities; and department and university service.
