The Healthy Lifestyles Center at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU is seeking up to 50 cafeteria assessors as part of an NIH -funded school food environment investigation. This position is under the supervision of Dr. Melanie Bean (Principal Investigator). Primary duties include participation in training, travel to elementary schools to conduct assessments of students’ lunches using photography methods, data collection according to the operations manual, other study tasks as required by the supervisor according to the study protocol. Schools in this study are located in Northern, VA. Given the distance from Richmond, the study team will travel as a group (transportation is provided) and should expect to be gone for the entire day on rating days, leaving Richmond between 6-7am and returning by 4pm.

Required Qualifications

successfully pass a background check to permit entry into schools;
-complete an online CITI training in Human Subjects Protection, Social Behavioral Research Basic Course
-attend a 2 hour training at VCU, specific to study and school procedures;
-availability on at least one rating day from 6:30am to 4pm.
