Business Operations Coordinator, Professional Service Specialist 2

Summary:

The Business Operations Coordinator will help measure and improve efficiency. The ideal candidate has a comprehensive understanding of core processes and has the ability to identify, document, create workflows and assist with the implementation of process improvements. This position serves as a liaison within the organization, participates in enterprise-level initiatives as well as department specific projects. The candidate will be expected to answer questions, educate employees and resolve issues on a wide variety of topics and assist with other day-to-day tasks as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to document, define, analyze and translate functional and technical business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into requirements specifications and clearly communicate requirements to both the business and technical stakeholders.
  • Lead in the development and review of requirements documents and other functional and technical artifacts.
  • Document workflows and best practices.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports.
  • Ensure all project systems operate smoothly and align with our quality standards.
  • Effectively communicate project status to management and stakeholders.
  • Participate in enterprise-level project teams to identify and implement process and system improvements.
  • Promote best practices in business processes and optimization.


Qualifications:

Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, MIS or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience, preferably in business optimization or project coordination role.
  • Operationally minded, always looking for ways to improve efficiency and suggest repeatable processes.
  • Excellent documentation and workflow skills.
  • Advanced technical skills in Business Systems.
  • Organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with Project Management practices/methodologies.
  • Strong orientation toward teamwork and ability to influence others; thrives in a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • A strong customer service orientation.


Qualifications:

Preferred

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with business processes or doing project coordination.
  • Experience creating test conditions and expected results for user acceptance and operational acceptance testing.
  • Previous experience with Slate CRM, OnBase document imaging software, and other admissions and/or university information systems including Ellucian Banner, ServiceNow, Atlassian Jira, and Atlassian Confluence.
