The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Law invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor with teaching and research interests in Race, Justice, and the Legal System, with particular attention to study of racial stereotypes on jury decision-making or police use of force, beginning August 16, 2021. The successful candidate will contribute to graduate and undergraduate Criminology and Sociology courses in race and justice, law and society, and psychology and law. We seek applicants with superior promise who combine rigorous scholarship with excellence in teaching, and a commitment to securing external funding. Candidates should have their Ph.D. in Sociology or Criminology. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.
