The Division of Administration and Finance is committed to providing quality campus services to faculty, staff, students and external constituencies in support of the university’s mission of teaching, research, and public service. The division includes Facilities Planning & Management, Budget, Human Resources, Information Technology Services and Police & Parking Services.
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Budget Director, this position is responsible for providing detailed analysis to support decision-making, planning, and institutional assessment for the university. This position will focus on the development and delivery of financial information to campus units to assist in their management of financial resources.
The position holder will need to acquire knowledge of the policies and guidelines of the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents, University of Wisconsin System, and University of Wisconsin-La Crosse ( UWL ), as well as federal and state laws and regulations. The position will be required to utilize this knowledge in their decision-making as well as make recommendations to campus units based on policy.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a business-related field.
• Training or relevant experience.

• Collaborate with the Budget Director, senior administration, and divisional leadership to identify trends, make recommendations, and aid in the development of strategic priorities that are aligned with campus goals and objectives.
• Build trust and consensus with university constituents including faculty, staff, and students.
• Work collaboratively to provide leadership and guidance in budget planning to develop and attain university goals and initiatives.
• Interpret applicable rules and regulations for all funding sources.
• Provide business analysis consultancy across multiple functional areas.
• Review and understand policies, analyze data, and provide information in presentation format to select audiences.
• Provide the necessary information and tools to help campus units manage their account activity and balances.

• Develop and provide analysis through reports for campus units to leverage university financial resources.
• Perform data analysis for university budget and financial planning processes.
• Reconcile data from multiple sources to ensure the accuracy of the information documented within the Budget Office records.
• Collect and document business requirements of campus-specific budget and resource processes.
• Serve as a resource person and provide training, as appropriate, to university staff; provide leadership to develop supplemental tracking and reporting tools as necessary.
• Analyze complex problems to resolve issues arising from various system software applications to ensure data reporting integrity.
• Understand and interpret financial policies of the UW System, State of Wisconsin, and Federal government, and relate these to the strategic planning of the university.
