The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a full time tenure-track or non-tenured faculty position in Operations Management at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an expected start date of August 2021. Of particular interest are applicants with backgrounds in supply chain management, statistical and machine learning, operations research, optimization, or a closely related field. This position is part of the School’s strategic plan of hiring three to five faculty members annually over the next few years. The position is available immediately and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Successful candidates will possess a PhD in Operations Management,
Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or other related
disciplines. The degree must be completed before August 2021.
Experience in industry and/or government is a plus.
Operations Management/Research faculty at the school are active
in research involving applications in data mining and machine
learning algorithms for business analytics, large-scale reputation
systems, risk-adverse stochastic optimization, innovation
management, and leadership development. Candidates are expected to
complement and enhance the research activities of the school with
their own scholarly activities, advise Ph.D. students, and are
expected to publish in top-tier journals of their field. Successful
candidates are expected to teach graduate and/or undergraduate
courses in Operations Management, Project Analytics, Supply Chain
Analytics, Process Optimization, and Risk Management. The
university offers a competitive teaching load and excellent support
for faculty research. Successful candidates are expected to
participate in curricular development, student advisement and the
program’s robust series of public events besides the primary role
of pursuing a strong research agenda.
