The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a full time tenure-track faculty position in Business Statistics at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an expected start date of August 2021. Of particular interest are applicants with backgrounds in business analytics, machine learning, large scale data problems, data driven operations management, or a closely related field. This position is part of the School’s strategic plan of hiring three to five faculty members annually over the next few years. The position is available immediately and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Successful candidates will possess a PhD in Statistics, Machine
Learning, Management Science, or other related discipline. The
degree must be completed before August 2021. Experience in industry
and/or government is a plus.
Business Statistics faculty at the school are active in research involving statistics, stochastic modeling, operations management, social network analysis, financial engineering, and deep learning. Candidates are expected to complement and enhance the research activities of the school with their own scholarly activities, advise Ph.D. students, and are expected to publish in top tier journals of their field. Successful candidates are expected to teach in our graduate and undergraduate programs in Statistical Models, Multivariate Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Applied Statistics with Application to Finance. The university offers a competitive teaching load and excellent support for faculty research.
Stevens offers Business Intelligence & Analytics and
Information Systems degrees at the MS and PhD level. The MS in
Business Intelligence & Analytics is one of the largest
programs in the School of Business and consists of courses on
multivariate data analytics, experimental design, data analytics
and machine learning, social network analytics, and web analytics.
Successful candidates are expected to participate in curricular
development, student advisement and the program’s robust series of
public events besides the primary role of pursuing a strong
research agenda.
