Developing positive relationships is integral to this role, and candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with individuals and teams, as well as interviewing and reporting skills, demonstrating an ability to connect with subjects. Excellent news judgment and enterprise in finding and following up on stories will also be critical in this role, as will be an acute awareness of and commitment to accurately representing diversity in all creative work. The Assistant Director must be a self-starter with excellent organizational, prioritization and time-management skills and the ability to self-motivate and work independently under very tight deadlines.
A Bachelor’s degree in photojournalism, visual communications, marketing, or related field of study and at least 3 years of video production experience is required, with demonstrated expertise in storyboarding, videography, photography, and audio production.
