About Northeastern:
Founded in 1898, Northeastern is a global research university and the recognized leader in experience-driven lifelong learning. Our world-renowned experiential approach empowers our students, faculty, alumni, and partners to create impact far beyond the confines of discipline, degree, and campus.

Our locations—in Boston; Charlotte, North Carolina; London; Portland, Maine; San Francisco; Seattle; Silicon Valley; Toronto; Vancouver; and the Massachusetts communities of Burlington and Nahant—are nodes in our growing global university system. Through this network, we expand opportunities for flexible, student-centered learning and collaborative, solutions-focused research.

Northeastern's comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs— in a variety of on-campus and online formats—lead to degrees through the doctorate in nine colleges and schools. Among these, we offer more than 195 multi-discipline majors and degrees designed to prepare students for purposeful lives and careers.

About the Opportunity:

The candidate will work closely with faculty and staff within the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University. The Network Science Institute is an interdisciplinary community with faculty research labs and a vibrant doctoral program.

Responsibilities:

Initiatives will focus on inclusivity and access for underserved communities that integrate network science research at the undergraduate and K-12 levels, as well as develop advising and mentoring network science doctoral students (e.g., develop professional development training, organize, and coordinate graduate summer schools, and workshops). An integral part of the scope of the position is to support and evaluate a diversity, equity, and inclusion program at the Institute and will be expected to design mechanisms to regularly assess the impact of the Institute's education, outreach, and diversity initiatives. Lastly, the Coordinator will function as a liaison between the institute and other relevant stakeholders within Northeastern University as well as with external community partners and collaborators.

Qualifications:

PhD or other terminal degree in fields related to network science and complex systems (e.g., Physics, Applied Math) and graduate studies in Education (e.g. Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology) are highly recommended. The ideal candidate has experience in designing educational modules, is familiar with state-of-the-art pedagogical strategies, has expertise in organizing educational activities (schools, workshops, seminars, etc..), and has some prior research experience in complex systems and in teaching and learning mechanisms. Respectful, energetic and with collaborative leadership skills. Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences and settings.
