Job Summary
The Student Assistant works at Parking-Traffic Control on the Statesboro Campus as a Parking Services Monitor. This position will start Spring semester, 2021.

Students cannot hold another on-campus position while employed in this position due to time recording methods. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Georgia Southern University is a tobacco and smoke-free community. All faculty, staff, and students must adhere to the established University System of Georgia policy.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Patrol designated area of campus on foot or in vehicle to enforce parking regulations; answer calls and complaints involving parking violations
  • Request permission to boot or tow vehicles that are illegally parked
  • Write and issue parking citations
  • Instruct the public in proper use of parking facilities
  • Observe parking and traffic conditions, taking appropriate actions to assist when needed
  • Use equipment unique to position such as two-way radio and hand-held computer to issue citations
  • Upload and download citation information from hand-held device and parking system
  • Perform various parking maintenance work such as layout, paint and erect signs for temporary, permanent, or special event parking
  • Maintain, program repair electronic gate systems
  • Create and issue special parking permits at the request of the supervisor for events held on campus
  • Run report on unidentified vehicles that have received citations
  • Maintain, repair and clean tools, equipment and work areas

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Experience Required
  • One (1) or more years of experience in customer service

Proposed Salary
$7.50 per hour
