Position Summary:

The Division of Continuing Studies supports the University of Wisconsin-Madison mission and the spirit of the Wisconsin Idea by advocating for and engaging lifelong learners. The Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) team advances the division mission and enriches the UW-Madison brand through the deployment of sophisticated marketing and communications strategies that enable and encourage enrollment of adult and nontraditional audiences at UW-Madison.

The Marketing Specialist will work across all teams within IMC, including digital, writing, design and account management. This individual will be a utility player, working on projects as needed. The position requires a collegial, self-directed individual and fast learner.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required (most relevant academic fields include English, marketing, advertising, journalism, communication arts or related fields).

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

-Five years of professional experience in marketing, advertising, journalism, communications or a related field
-Writing, editing and proofreading marketing content in a variety of styles
-Digital marketing experience, including social media, mass-market emails, content development and SEO
-Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Hootsuite, Workzone, Wordpress and Eloqua
-Project coordination
-Familiarity with graphic design
-Proven ability to work quickly, accurately and independently under tight deadlines and high volume
-Experience handling multiple priorities in a detail-oriented environment and contributing to the success of the entire team
-Proven ability to work with diverse internal and external audiences with energy, collegiality, patience, passion, curiosity and a sense of humor
-Professional experience in higher education
-Experience in a high-volume agency setting, responding quickly to the unique needs of diverse clients
-Experience in strategic marketing planning

Assignment at the senior prefix level requires at least 7 years' relative work experience.

Additional Information:

This is a fixed-term terminal (two-year) position with the option to convert to renewable if program needs and budget allow.
