Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

To recruit, admit and enroll students who will perform successfully in the collegiate community. Daily contact with the public and key stakeholders, including on and off campus professionals, is involved and an accurate knowledge of relaying Admissions policies and procedures set forth by the University and the Office of Admissions is expected. The office engages in a wide range of activities designed to publicize and describe the programs, activities and other opportunities available at UNCW .

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Transfer Student Success Coordinator represents UNCW and the Office of Admissions in the Fayetteville, NC area and at surrounding community colleges within the assigned region by providing comprehensive recruitment and advising services to prospective students seeking to transfer to UNCW . This position will be based in Fayetteville, NC area (not at the main campus in Wilmington).

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

-Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
-Strong writing and public speaking communication skills
-Ability to develop and maintain an established work schedule
-Effective organizational and planning skills
-Ability to disseminate complex information to key stakeholders and prospective students in a way that is easy to comprehend
-Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials
-Ability to work autonomously and within a team
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships
-Ability to travel extensively
-Demonstrated adaptability in a changing environment
-Ability to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data effectively
-3-5 years in college/university admissions, advising, sales, marketing, public relations, communication, or education
-Transfer admissions experience
-Proficiency with recruitment and/or advising in a University or Community College setting
-Master’s degree
