REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Facility Services
PLACEMENT : Professional Grade S11

POSITION SUMMARY
The Roads and Grounds Superintendent supervises all assigned staff at all college campuses. Manages a comprehensive preventative and scheduled maintenance program(s) for all facilities and equipment; executes the program within budgetary limits. The Superintendent oversees and is accountable for prompt and efficient customer service; utilizes the workforce in a manner within the language of the labor agreement.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plan, organize and schedule the routine and project work for all Roads & Grounds Division personnel at all College facilities and effectively communicate the information to the Director.
2. Assist in the development of a comprehensive roads & grounds management program for all College sites and execute the program within budgetary constraints.
3. Collaborate with other appropriate College personnel, develop and manage a comprehensive Institutional Landscape Management Program.
4. Provide project oversight to contractors and in-house projects as assigned by the Director of Facility Services.
5. Assist in the preparation of the Roads & Grounds Division budget. Manage the inventory for all Roads & Grounds Division supplies, tools and equipment.
6. Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive Sustainability program.
7. Assist in the development of mandated and other Roads & Grounds Division safety and compliance programs and coordinate the execution of those programs.
8. Plan and coordinate the emergency snow removal activities of the Roads & Grounds Division.
9. Provide adequate training and supervision of all Roads & Grounds Division personnel.
10. Maintain morale of the Division by promptly responding to employee concerns and objectively evaluate the performance of Division personnel and the productivity of the Division.
11. Assist in the monitoring of landscape design/construction projects performed by both outside contractors and in-house personnel as assigned.
12. Serve on committees, participate and represent the Facility Services Department in meetings at various functions.
